Yes, you are in good company here - we all know what it is like to love our horses so much it hurts!

Babies do change our schedules - that is for sure! But, in time you will find more horse time - I did and I do think my time with Maizie (my baby who isn't a baby anymore) helped me be a better horse person ultimately. So hang in there - it all balances out beautifully!juliettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17488138405040629084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7632474743706899336.post-36222122326933108282014-02-16T15:42:59.027-05:002014-02-16T15:42:59.027-05:00I just stumbled upon your Found In The Fog essay. ...I just stumbled upon your Found In The Fog essay. Once I started reading, I could not stop. You gave me so much to think about and delivered affirmation at the same time.

I really enjoy how your love of horses is in the forefront of your writing. I love them, too, or more specifically, I love my horse so much that it hurts sometimes. I cannot be with him as much as I would like right now because I had a baby in May and my schedule has changed greatly. I love my baby, of course, but there is no substitute for horse love.

I see from the comments that I am in good company here. :)Valhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07335385366138424092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7632474743706899336.post-73242325657166597692014-02-16T08:11:39.510-05:002014-02-16T08:11:39.510-05:00I'm talking about lmel from Travels With Harle...I'm talking about lmel from Travels With Harley blog - poor Harley - I forgot to mention him - another ottb and he has two ottb "sisters" too! When the temperatures suddenly drop (this afternoon), someone (me!) will make sure he's got a clean blanket on, (early shedding this year), and warm mash is delivered at bed check. :D

Having horses is a privilege, and the free workout doesn't hurt either! It's nice that you ...Great post and a fun ride. It's nice that you are able to enjoy your horses everyday. I'd like to take a ride in the snow but it's so deep here now it would be too hard on them. The only thing plowed are the driveways and they tend to get icy. I love reading about how you take such Joy in your horses and their care.

Just a thought: instead of trying to push the wheelbarrow through the snow how about one of those plastic sleds with flat bottoms for the hay. It's still exercise so you don't have to worry about a fat butt.Grey Horse Mattershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837575441967937196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7632474743706899336.post-90323791951314386792014-02-15T16:17:04.557-05:002014-02-15T16:17:04.557-05:00Juliette I love this post because it is such a gre...Juliette I love this post because it is such a great insight into the wonderful person you are. ;-) it drives me crazy when people complain about having to care for their horses or pets in foul weather! animal care is a year round sport, people! i cared for my horses in the snow (wearing metal /rubber track grippers on my boots) up until I was 8 months pregnant with Junior. I love doing it- it is satisfying and I love getting my eyes on my horses at least twice a day to assess how they are. I am very jealous of your riding I have not ridden in the snow since I was a child! I do not have a good answer for this other than it is often icy here too so I think safety and hyper horses are my concern, LOL! I do love it when the hay gets a little snowy though- I always see it as it wets the hay a bit giving the horses addditional water which they need in the winter time!Ranch Girl Diarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09592780075479316574noreply@blogger.com
