Sweet Pie nuzzling me for some blueberry tea before I left home. We are in Florida now for our annual southern getaway and I am missing my boys more than anyone knows. I opted not to ride in Florida this year. Adorable Max has been sold so the plan was for me to work on my horsey book in this glorious setting.
These two photos are from last year, and the magnificence is apparent. It would be difficult to be sad in such a location...
...but I don't have horsey hooves to clean here...
...or foretops to fix...
...or big puppies to ride...
...or buckets to clean (ok, not really missing this!)...
Nothing feels right without a horse.
I am trying to enjoy the journey (the big Journey) though, so to that end I am finding joy in being with Brian and Maizie and Noodlebug. Here is a short clip of our drive through West Virginia on I-81 with John Denver in the background.
Have fun in Florida and enjoy the sunshine. It will be a great time to relax and work on your book. Happy Thanksgiving.ReplyDelete
Too bad - suffering in Florida during the cold weather. Have a great time.ReplyDelete
Val loves him some blackberry / pomegranate tea. :DReplyDelete
Try to enjoy the lack of horsey chores for a bit...(except writing the horsey book - looking forward to reading more chapters!)
Thanks for the video - that was my grandma Honey's favorite song, that she sang with great gusto but not much tunefulness...
Who was the fourth person in the truck? (and who was driving???):D
Thanks everyone for the great comments!ReplyDelete
Calm, Forward, Straight - That is great about your grandma's singing Johnnie D - love her Honey name!
I was driving - looks way more dangerous than it really was - that explains why the video is vertical - duh - I should have had Maizie set the phone up horizontal for me - and the fourth little traveler was - Noodlebug of course!!!
Have a lovely time in Florida--although I know you'll miss the ponies. I look forward to reading more of your book.ReplyDelete
Hey--I think I recognize that chunk of I-81. Drove it many times en route to college in Roanoke, and always blasting "Country Roads"--how appropriate for Wild Wonderful West Virginia. Happy Thanksgiving!
Have a fantastic time in Florida! I so wish I could be somewhere that is sunny and warm!!ReplyDelete
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
I completely understand you missing your boys, just look at the love your getting from that sweet face with big soft eyes in the 5th photo down (Pie?). It will be all the sweeter when your home.ReplyDelete
I didn't know you were writing a book, how wonderful & what a great place to do it ~ the ocean. Your style of riding has always intrigued me, I look forward to reading more.
I thought of you on our trip up north this Fall, and let Koda pick some paths. It was a nice experience! It's a different mind-set, it made him really happy :)
Enjoy FL and it's glorious sunshine. Your puppy boys will be happy for your return but I'm sure will be happy relaxing and just being a horse daily until then! :)ReplyDelete
